And so they stay up and watch the sun rise, but he’s far away and it’s the afternoon there and he’s working and she’s the one who still needs to shower and needs to take care of all the things in her life that began unravelling when she left her studies behind in Paris and finally landed in the middle of it all in LA.
I miss you, she murmurs, when the red light of the sun finally breaks over the cityscape around her. She can hear his laughter, but she knows Arthur well enough to know it’s something real and he’s not mocking her (he never mocks her).
