There was also the whole deal with him so obviously wearing his heart on his sleeve the whole time, and actually opening up to Clara. I think he does get why Clara was mad at him at the end of the last episode and why she got mad in this episode. But it seems Clara has a little more understanding of the Doctor, in that she does have to just sometimes trust him because he’s the Doctor. Their relationship should have been like this all season. He should have been doing these things all series long.
