People are making a lot of mileage over the Missy plot and what exactly that’s about, but I think really the arcing plot of this season – one of the meatiest things in this series – is the Doctor and Clara’s relationship, the richness of that bond between the companion and the Doctor, and how they interact with one another, the negotiation of who the Doctor is now and what Clara means to that.
