I don’t know. Thought you might find it boring.

1: Sorry OP for the meta ranting

2: Meta ranting –

THIS IS SO FUCKING IMPORTANT BECAUSE I SAW SO MANY PEOPLE SAYING NEGATIVE NONSENSE LIKE ‘THE DOCTOR DOESN’T DO THAT NOOO’. No you mean the Doctor didn’t do that for your faves/for others, but the Doctor, (starting from Eleven!) has been keen to build homes and lives and sanctuaries, perhaps more so than Nine or Ten (my knowledge begins and ends with New Who, so I’ll leave the Classic meta-ing to those who know about it).

This trend started with the fact that the Ponds-Williams literally became his extended family, and carried on with how he always had a place with them at Christmas, that they were burned into his hearts for good, that for the longest time they were roots and anchors and nooses (because family’s not just about the love they give, it’s about the pain too), not just to him but all four involved for each other (River is implied here can u tell because she’s family too). But with Eleven, even if he had a family the whole sanctuary/return part of it had an imperfect execution, and that’s not just to his shame — that’s also to his credit. Because he TRIED. He realized the value and he TRIED, and he lost it, but he eventually learned to try again. And you know why? Because of Clara. It took Clara to make him realize how much he really did WANT to try again. The Ponds-Williams set the foundation, and Clara reminds him of its worth. She herself embodies it for him now.

So of COURSE he’d come around for dinner for her, of course he would, christ she’d probably have to force him out of the room at the end. No man who looks at Clara the way Twelve looks at her wouldn’t make time (not just sooner or later or Wednesdays) to come round for dinner, even if it consisted of nothing but burnt souffles and jellybabies pried out of cigarette cases.

And let’s not forget that Ten spent Christmas dinner with Jackie and Rose in The Christmas Invasion
