which of course gets you thinking of that episode, which features a character who may or may not be real, who explicitly compares himself to the doctor regarding how real he is, who becomes a hero through legend and stories the same way that the doctor does

and who is reunited with the woman he loves, who he’d thought he’d never see again, at the very end

also they are both speechless, which again, adds to the gravity of the moment. they are so positively shocked and suprised that they forget their usual light bickering tradition. that was also the same way in motoe, in the corridor, where they both became serene-silent, just staring and drinking in each other.
