The Doctor Who episode ‘Rose’ aired 10 years ago today (March 26 2005), it was the return of the series to TV screens after nearly 9 years off air and would help bring The Doctor to global audience, whilst still capturing the hearts and minds of children.

10 years on Doctor Who is bigger than ever across the world and it really is down to the efforts of everyone involved in series 1 of the new run.

Without the  commitment of people like Russell T Davies and  Julie Gardner, without the down to earth performance of Billie Piper as companion Rose or the charming, silly and occasionally seriousness of Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor the show would not have been a success.
