LIST THE FIRST LINES OF YOUR LAST TEN STORIES. SEE IF YOU FIND ANY PATTERNS.

I was tagged by dr-rushs-glasses and sfiddy to do this, so here goes.

1. The door to the nightclub flew open, and Gold watched with interest as one of his men came through it, horizontally, sprawling over the sticky wood floor with a grunt. – first chapter of A Pillow and a Gun

2. The living room was warm and cozy, lit by two Tiffany style lamps that seemed almost too dainty to be flanking the leather sofa, with its fat tufting and brass rivets, yet fit comfortably into the space nonetheless.  – While Our Beds Are Burning

3. Gold sighed and flipped through the directory, frowning. – part 1 of The Maid, Come Clean!verse

4. Gold shut the door to the library he also used as an office and exhaled. – part 2 of The Maid, Come Clean!verse, Come Clean!verse

5. Neither said a word for several minutes as they both tried to process what had happened. – part 3 of The Maid, Come Clean!verse

6. For the last few days Belle had been feeling, well, blah was the only way she could describe it. – Watching, Watching!verse

7. Belle let out the breath she’d been holding and fell to her knees. – chapter 8 of As My Lady Commands

8. Lacey was bending over the desk when Gold walked into the study. – Gathering Dust, Come Clean!verse

9. It was Thursday, and Lacey was quite surprised to find herself standing outside a familiar pink Victorian. – Reorganizing, Come Clean!verse

10. Belle rolled over in her bed and groaned as the sharp pulsing throb of a headache made itself known. – Seeing, Watching!verse

I’m not sure if there’s a pattern to be seen in these. I do try to keep this similar within a series or multi-part fic, which is evident in Come Clean fics. Also try to keep a similar theme, opening, or mirror things if I’m writing a sequel to something. I do try to go for either something descriptive that sets a mood, or a single, fairly short sentence that grabs and makes you want to keep reading. Or at least I try.
