This whole series has been about consequences and I would not be surprised, if at the end of the day, this series arc is about consequences:
- The Doctor saves Gallifrey in DOTD, now he is dealing with the consequences of having them back.
- The Doctor doesn’t save/does saves Davros in TMA/TWF, there are consequences to either action as we saw. He makes a mistake here with “cataclysmic repercussions”.
- The Doctor changes time to save Clara in UTL/BTF, I have a feeling that bootstrap paradox and the consequences of playing with it will come into play very soon.
- The Doctor saves Ashildr in TGWD, creating a tidal wave in time and is suffering the consequence of that in losing Clara. He didn’t really think it through, acted more on emotion. And inadvertently, may have played a role in her death by saving Ashildr/Me.
- Invasion/Inversion was all about truth and consequences. How far will you go to keep the peace?
- Clara suffers the consequences of growing too sure, too “Doctor” like in FTR and you can see that though her logic is sound, she simply believes that the Doctor will always “win”. Is there not consequences to that?
- The Time Lords granted The Doctor a new set of regenerations and are now facing the consequences of this action as well as the results of setting all of this into motion.
Just some thoughts I have been thinking about. I think we have been focused on the hybrid as the arc and I don’t think that is it at all. Tell me your thoughts? 🙂
