Sleepy’s Rebelcaptain Catch-Up Corner!

I’m making up for lost time! I want to spread some positivity and help content-creators feel proud of the things they’ve made. I’ve noticed a lack of feedback and interaction with fan-created content over the past several months in the fandom- the reblogs just aren’t that high, the comments/kudos are few and far between, etc.

As such, I’d like to encourage people to step forward and, rather than have people rec things to me, I want content-creators to give me a self-rec!

When someone creates something and they’re met with silence outside of the cursory likes/kudos/views, it can be hard to ignore how crappy it feels when it seems like others didn’t like it as much as they’d had hoped. It can bring people down, and maybe even discourage them from making any more content for others to enjoy.

This is a large part of why I went on hiatus in the first place- I needed to step back and learn to be proud again of what I do. But it was during this hiatus that I realized I’ve spent so much time working on my own stuff that I haven’t found much time to leave feedback, particularly the sort of feedback that encourages me to continue writing. There was just so much going on that I’d been reduced to reading 4 fics a month, if that. I decided to address that during the month of July.

I know this isn’t a huge solution for what I’ve been seeing lately in the fandom- I’m only one person, after all- but I want to make an effort and get back to doing something positive + give people a bit of a boost where they need it ❤
