Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day

Fanfiction and fandom changed my life. It really did. I’ve been reading fic almost non-stop for just over 4 years, and it redefined the meaning of fiction and reading and just… everything, really. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I never knew it was possible to just settle down in a cozy corner of the universe and read hundreds of thousands of words about the lives of my favorite characters in any possible scenario. Over and over again. It’s not like reading a novel, and that’s all I get. No, fanfiction is infinite, really, and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. 

So to all you wonderful, majestic, and magnificent writers out there who have so intensely impacted my life… Thank you. You have no idea how much meaning your writing has to me. Some of you (you know who you are) have become my friends – REAL, true, and honest to goodness friends, and I love that fandom has given me you.

As a writer, I’d also like to give great thanks to those charming individuals who encourage all manners of my writing shenanigans, send fire elmo gifs, and laugh maniacally at my crazy ideas and then demand that I write them. I would like to give a shout out to my Doctor/Rose fic rec blog – @tardisbibliothek – where I regularly promote/reblog to tons of amazing D/R fic and accompanying art. I’ve always been a fan of promoting writers I love, and this is where the bulk of it happens.
