rebelcaptain aesthetic | anastasia au (for @parrysh)

cassian andor as a former bolshevik turned conman who lost his faith near yekaterinburg. jyn as a street-smart orphan with more than a passing resembling to a murdered grand duchess. together they decide to collect the reward for a lost princess.

whelp, this beautiful aesthetic basically chased me down and held me hostage.

just so you know, you basically have to do no mental gymnastics for rebelcaptain to fit anastasia’s “at the beginning.” (aaaand the song itself on YouTube.)

nb: incomplete and rushed. details unreviewed. hope you enjoy.

  • Galen has worked long and hard to trick the Empire, but he is still human.
    • He tries to think of Jyn and Lyra only when he is strong.
    • As the Death Star nears completion, he begins to think of them when he his weak.
    • He falls into a pit of despair.
    • Progress on the project stops. Krennic is Not Happy.
  • Krennic decides to re-energize his search for Jyn. Reuniting father and daughter would surely bring Galen back on track, right?
    • But as months pass with no whisper of the girl, Krennic starts thinking… you know, it’s been over thirteen years since they’ve met. Would Galen even recognize the real Jyn? The man’s mind is dull at the moment, and if he just found a girl who looked like Lyra (kriffin’ Lyra, haunting his steps even when dead and burned), who was coached about Jyn’s real life (all those years of secret surveillance once again coming to use!), and whose DNA tests were blatantly fudged… well. It should be enough to fool Galen long enough to get him back to work. And then Galen will realize how foolish he’s been acting and start behaving like his old self.
    • But his lackeys’ attempts in sculpting the Perfect Adult Jyn Erso Girl fail. Galen is not so lost in his mind that he can be tricked about his daughter.
    • Tarkin is making snide comments about delays again. Krennic will Not Let This Pass. Krennic’s got a Plan, and he’s always enjoyed a good show.
  • A memorandum is released quietly into the HoloNet.
    • Over a decade ago, rebel terrorists attacked the home of loyal Imperial scientist Galen Erso. His wife was killed, but Imperial Intelligence believes that his young daughter Jyn survived the attack. Dr. Erso has dedicated his life in furthering the greatness of the Empire; it is only right that we reunite father and daughter.
    • Jyn Erso should be 21 Standard Galactic Years with brown hair and green eyes. Her species is human. [Age-progressed holoimage of Jyn Erso from last known holo.]
    • Facilitating a successful reunion of Dr Erso with his long-lost daughter will be handsomely compensated, along with other honors.
    • The galaxy’s con-men, -women, and -other beings start salivating at the nerf bit.
  • You want to know who else is salivating at the thought of the ridiculously large purse (they need the funds, okay) as well as the possibility of getting intimate access to the higher-ups of the Advanced Weaponry Division, if not other leaders? The Alliance.
    • They can read between the lines just as well as every other unscrupulous individual.
    • Captain Cassian Andor is one of their best operatives at long-term undercover assignments. He is pulled from the field.
    • “You are to recruit and train an individual who can successfully pass as Jyn Erso and maintain such a cover until discovery or extraction.”
