Hello everyone! This is my roommate’s service dog Marli, a really good doggo who has brought a lot of joy in my life and everyone at the school I attend, but we could really use your help! She’s been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease, a disease that cause an increase of cortisol that causes a whole lot of problems like hair loss, thinning skin, loss of bladder control, and internal damage which has already affected her liver and gall bladder. She is only eight years old, and if left untreated, she will die within two years.
Luckily, there is treatment for it! But that treatment is expensive, especially in the beginning where she will need multiple ATCH tests and ultrasounds to figure out the right dosage of medicine she will need for the rest of her life. My roommate is in the final semester of her Masters in Social Work at San Francisco as money is very tight!
