TV Guide names Heaven Sent one of its “Favorite TV Moments of the Decade”

anotheruserwithnoname:

The editors of TV Guide in the US have just paid tremendous respect to Peter Capaldi and “Heaven Sent”.

As it prepares to mark the end of the 2010s decade, TV Guide has named Heaven Sent as one of its 52 “superlative moments” of the past decade of television.

Under the category “Best one-man show”, the article mentions how Peter Capaldi “never got the appreciation he deserved” for playing the Twelfth Doctor, but “Heaven Sent” was “a stunning showcase”. It describes the episode as locking the Doctor in “a custom-made prison designed to extract his secrets, forcing him to
confront not only his fear of vulnerability but his grief over Clara. Capaldi, alone for almost the entire hour … cut
to the heart of a man who would rather spend billions of years punching
through a wall than let anyone else get the upper hand.”
