happy new year everyone! 2019 was,, a year. i’m looking forward to putting it behind me, but i can’t do that without acknowledging all the wonderful people who helped make my life a little brighter. in my almost 10 years on this website, i never could have imagined i would make so many lasting friendships and genuine connections, but i have. the last two years, since making this blog, have been filled with a lot of ups and downs, but nearly every interaction i’ve had on tumblr has been positive and made me reconnect with my old passions. i’m so thankful for all the friends i’ve made in the last year and for all the friendships that have strengthened in 2019. i hope this next decade brings love and success and happiness to each and every one of you.

Not only is 2019 ending tonight, but we are at the end of a decade too. This decade has brought many things, love, loss, growth, and self-discovery. I am not the same person I was at the beginning of this decade, and even at the beginning of this year. I’ve been through my lowest of lows and my highest of highs in this decade. I graduated middle school, high school, and college. I published a poetry book. I finally overcame the low self-esteem that had been plaguing me for years. I survived.

I want to give a special thanks to @sirtadcooper, @elloette, @the-lazy-cat-bakes-souffles, @resting-meme-face, @professorsaber, @leaiorganas, and so many others for making this decade on Tumblr worth it and for all the support, even in my roughest times. 

Here’s to the 2020s!

i hope you pursue what you love in 2020, supported and surrounded by people who are so happy to have you in their lives. i hope you realize that we grow from failure, and that the lessons you learn will benefit you so much. those bumps along the roads, the sad days, the doubting, things not turning out just the way you imagined they would – they will happen, and it will be okay. you’ll face it, you’ll survive, grow, and you’ll make a wonderful year for yourself, regardless, or indeed because of that.
