But the final scene brings the season around to the part that actually, really worked: Clara. She and the Doctor give each other a sort of “Gift of the Magi,” and that gift is a matching set of lies. Danny stays dead. (Consequences!) Gallifrey is still lost. Clara lies to the Doctor about the former, and the Doctor lies to her about the latter. (x)
I have mixed feelings about the review but I love the Gift of the Magi reference. Perfect.
