Merope Riddle (née Gaunt), (c. 1907 – 31 December, 1926) was a pure-blood witch, daughter of Marvolo Gaunt, and sister of Morfin. She was a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin and a Parselmouth. Merope lived in a shack with her father and brother, who mentally and physically abused her. She grew to have an obsessive love for Tom Riddle, a handsome and wealthy Muggle. When both her father and brother were imprisoned, she bewitched and married Tom. Merope ended up dying at an orphanage, soon after giving birth to her son, whom she had named Tom Marvolo Riddle.

So the Doctor does not look, he smiles, sad. A sad smile. I am not yet sure what to make of it… does he know she means him? Has he figured it out? Or is he giving this sad smile because he imagines for himself that she is saying it to him, instead to Danny? I think Clara means it, she loves the Doctor, but I am not sure yet, the Doctor knows that.He loves her, but they both seem not to know that they love each other. The Doctor is an alien, he acts and thinks different, and all this keeps both thinking that they like each other and like to travel with each other but this is why they don’t see that they both love each other deeply.
