Ben: That was amazing. That was a flu-ridden Michael Jordan at the ‘97 NBA finals. That was Kirk Gibson hobbling up to the plate and hitting a homer off of Dennis Eckersley. That was…that was Leslie Knope.

As Leslie put it in ‘Hunting Trip’, guys love it when you can show them you’re better than they are at something they love. Ben loves politics; he’s probably loved politics since he was a child, he loved politics enough to run for mayor at 18 and win, and now he’s dedicating his life to salvaging his political career even if it means moving from town to town slashing people’s budgets and being shunned and hated for it. He loves politics, and here in front of him is this woman who can pull herself out of a feverish haze that has the rest of the town bedridden to deliver a speech good enough to convince 110 businesses (and counting) to sign up to her harvest festival. And look at his face. He loves it.
