30 Days of Doctor Who
Day 16 – Favourite Martha Moment
MARTHA GETTING OUTAfter a series of Martha’s unrequited love, I liked that she finally decided to go. I mean, it’s not my favourite moment because she’s leaving, but I was just really glad she decided to get on with her life rather than pine away. I also like how she gives the Doctor her phone, most companion farewells seem fairly final, but she wasn’t going to just let him disappear on her.
You need to be careful, because you know the Doctor’s wonderful and he’s brilliant, but he’s like fire. Stand too close and people get burned.

ALEX: My baby.
GENE: I know, I know, I know. Way of the world, Alex. She’ll be fine.
ALEX: All right. Listen. Lis… listen to me. I can stay here… with you. You can’t do this… you can’t do this on your own. You need me, Gene. I can’t… I can’t go in there!
GENE: Yes, you can. They’ve got a saloon bar. Can’t have you putting me off my stride, can I? I mean, I’ll end up wondering if I’m not completely right all the time. Can’t have that. Weren’t bad though, were we?
ALEX pulls herself together and takes the 6620 pin out of her pocket and offers it to him.
ALEX: Here.
GENE: See you around, Bolly kecks.
ALEX: Goodbye, Guv.
GENE: Go.Ashes to Ashes, 3.08
Balancing on one wounded wing,
circling the edge of the never ending.
The best of the vanished marvels
have gathered inside your door.
