The Project

It’s the year 2064 and the world is in crisis. Over the past thirty-five years, fertility has crept to an all time low and the world is in panic. Every birth is a cause for celebration, every death a reason to mourn. The world is in a martial law status where crimes, especially murders, have justice metered out swiftly and without the standard jury of peers.

No woman is safe on the streets, they are considered commodities to be stolen and used in order to attempt procreation. Gangs roam the streets, avoiding the ever present police and not a single person ever ventures out alone. Ever. The danger is too high.

A joint task agency was created, compromised of scientists, law enforcement agents, psychologists, professors and leading researchers from around the globe. They are all housed at the Thames House on the bank of the river Thames in London, home also to the UK security team which has members on the task force.

The goal is simple, find a way to stop the downward spiral and reverse the infertility issue, all while staying ahead of the gangs and other agencies that (for their own reasons) wish to stop the research happening at Thames House.

Teddy: You see, now, the girlfriend’s car – huh! – an amazing assortment of specimens in that vehicle. You’ve got sand from two beaches, probably in Norfolk. Er, traces of assorted human detritus, mostly exfoliated skin and the parasites that feed on it. Stuff you might find in your mattress.

30 Days of New Doctor Who | 04. Favorite Character (The Companions)

So sue me, I cheated on this one. I’ve always been more traditionally attached to the companions rather than the different incarnations of the Doctor. Each companion brings something different to the show and that’s something I can appreciate, because it makes their dynamic with the Doctor unique. It gives the show a fresh feeling whenever there’s a new face aboard. One of my very favorite things is their reactions when they come inside the TARDIS for the first time. And regardless of who your favorites are, the Doctor clearly chooses them for a reason – because they all have their awesome qualities and they’ve saved his ass on plenty of occasions. For better or for worse, I’ve loved them all at some point.
