The Doctor is an angel, powerful and dangerous, and he makes the mistake of falling in love with a human. Rose lives in the mundane world, but to the Doctor she shines bright as gold and is just a strong as any angel. He shows her the stars and tells her the secrets of the universe, filling her with light and life. Her humanity is everything and the secrets of angels overwhelm her, destroy her.

The Doctor changes, his wings are clipped, and the fallen angel is now a demon who wanders the Earth. Everywhere he goes death and destruction follow, he corrupts and destroys, burns his friends until they sprout wings of their own. 

The lonely angel locked out of heaven, but his only heaven was her.
