Is it really true that writers go through and read all the tags that people have when they reblog their fic? And are there any tags, comments, or reviews on any of your fics that you still remember because they meant so much to you or made you laugh or cry or any other emotion? :)
WE READ EVERY SINGLE TAG.(at least I do…and most writers I know do) Sometimes the tags on a reblog are the only feedback we get, so we post a fic and just hope we have tags to read. I’ve cried, laughed, both at the same time…often at work, which is really embarrassing.
There are definitely tags, comments, reviews that I remember as they were the catalyst for a new friendship or interaction with someone. It’s one thing that’s really awesome about fanfiction, there is a true conversation with our readers that we can respond to. Sometimes it’s hard (thanks tumblr, can I have my replies back), but I try. I will say, any time I see my name is all caps or people yelling/cursing at me in the tags, I know my work here is done. 😉
