Вилы (Vilyi) – in Slavic mythology female spirits, beautiful girls in light clothes with unfastened hair, living in the mountains. Vilyi have wings, they fly like birds. Vilyi own wells and lakes, they can “lock” them. If you take away Vilas wings, they lose the ability to fly and become ordinary women. Those who takes the clothes from Vilyi, became their master. Vilyi are friendly towards people, help the offended and orphans, they have power to heal, they predict the future.
