The first time she slid into his bed, as quiet as a thief in the night, he knew he was lost. Her quiet presence makes his heart beat the rhythm of the lost and he can still feel it, then and every night since. There is no way she doesn’t know, no way she is not aware of how desperately his heart beats for her, how he needs a pacemaker whenever she is around.

[Fic Summary]
Cassian finds Jyn everywhere and nowhere all at once. He feels like he can grasp her but also watches her slip through his fingers. He knows her and doesn’t know her at the same time. But he does what he can to show his love for her.

[Favorite Bits]
There’s a lyrical motion to it with the repeating prose through each bit of the fic the reader goes through, and I really like this sort of character study going on with how Cassian feels about Jyn. Cassian’s combination of fear (that Jyn might not reciprocate) and fearlessness (of choosing to continue to love Jyn and support her in spite of it) is a delicate balance that’s well-written here! It fits the Rogue One Anniversary theme very well!
