• Being able to filter your activity just down to the notes you get on your own original posts. I know that artists sometimes just want to be able to look at how people are responding to the art they post.

•Having the whole “see the web of reblogs” be available on your blog, not just on your dashboard. That tool is very useful for finding which big assholes to block if you are receiving harassment for a particular post. It needs to be easier to get to and see.

•TIMESTAMPS that aren’t via a third party. There are SO many extremely old “raising awareness” posts floating around this website that end up getting people worried about issues that have already been resolved (like missing persons, old donation posts, old news, etc) or are full of outdated information.

Dashboard Search. I know I saw an interesting post the other day, one of my mutuals reblogged it. I don’t remember who, so I can’t go looking through their personal blog. If I search tumblr in general for the buzzwords I remember, I will be swamped with irrelevant results. Let me restrict my search to the blogs of the users I follow.

Tumblr, it’s 2020.

@staff, it’s time to implement real, useful features. I’ll even provide some ideas for you.

Real blocking. I don’t ever want to see that person’s blog or content again after I’ve blocked them. This means content from their blog that is reblogged from someone who isn’t blocked. Likewise they shouldn’t ever see mine. If you’re serious about privacy, then get serious about privacy.

Pinned posts. Staff, your blog can pin posts to the top of your blog. It’s time we are able to do the same so that important information or updates about us, our business or blog can be easily and readily visible and accessible.

Post notifications. We shouldn’t have to endure thousands of notes on a specific post if we don’t want to. We need an option to turn off like/reblog/comment notifications on a per post basis without having to delete the original post.

Mutuals-only Activity filter. Sometimes we just want to see activity from Mutuals without convoluting our feed with followers we don’t also follow. We need that option without using third party extensions (at least on a browser).

Original content Dashboard filter. This should already be an option. Let us filter out reblogs. Sometimes I only want to see original posts. Tumblr was built on a foundation of sharing original art, photos, videos, stories, etc. Let us view them and only them so we don’t miss anything from our friends and favorite blogs.

We’re entering a new decade and a new era of social interaction. We’re ready for features that align with accessibility, privacy and a better overall user experience.
